Job Information US - Software Engineer III
Georgia, Alpharetta, 30004 Alpharetta USADescription Job Summary:As a Software Engineer III, you will be instrumental in the development and maintenance of a suite of web-based Java applications serving law enforcement agencies. Your role will involve designing, developing, testing, and maintaining applications using a tech stack that includes Apache Tapestry, Java, Spring, Hibernate, and MYSQL. You will collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to deliver high-quality solutions meeting customer requirements. This is a remote position, and candidates must demonstrate the ability to work effectively within a distributed team environment.Primary Responsibilities:
Identify and analyze customer requirements
Design, develop, test, and maintain Java-based software
Recommend software solutions to emerging needs
Perform software upgrades, security fixes, and code reviews
Execute production releases and collaborate with internal teams
Mentor junior developers
Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams
Work with external vendors for integrated solutions
Document processes and features as needed
Nice to Have:
Knowledge of Linux, MSSQL, Java Profiling, Performance Tuning, Advanced Caching Methods, Database query optimization
Preferred Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Computer Science or related field
7+ years of application development experience
Additional Information:This role is 100% remote and requires experience working with remote teams. Candidates should be self-sufficient, fast learners, and able to work with minimal supervision.Key Responsibilities:The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining software for law enforcement agencies. They will collaborate with product, QC, support, and engineering teams to ensure requirements are met, software is of high quality, and deadlines are achieved. The candidate will mentor junior engineers and deploy applications across various environments.Top 3 Must-Have Skills:

Requirements
Skills Required:
Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Computer Science or related field
7+ years of full stack development experience
Proficiency in Java, JEE, Spring, and Hibernate
Experience with RDBMS, preferably MySQL
Strong web development skills
Knowledge of build and release processes
Experience with Tomcat and Apache
Proficiency in web services
Familiarity with Azure and AWS Cloud Environments
Knowledge of Unix commands for deployments and troubleshooting
Ability to learn new technologies quickly
Strong verbal and written communication skills
