Medical Biller and Coder

Our Medical Clinic is looking for a detail-oriented entry level Medical Billing and Coding specialist. This position will require processing medical insurance claims, posting payments, verifying patient eligibility, and resolving claim denials. In addition, you must be a team player who enjoys working with others to help achieve company goals and objectives. Knowledge with Athena or similar HR software a plus. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

Verify Patient Eligibility.

Resolve claim denials.

Write off outstanding balances as necessary.

Document all procedures and communications.

Post insurance and patient payments.

Verify outgoing patient invoices.

Must have 3 years of previous billing and coding experience.

Must be organized and detail oriented.

Must be able to communicate in both English and Spanish.

Must be analytical and self-motivated.

Strong team skills

Establish and maintain effective professional working relationships with patients, Insurance companies and/or co-workers at all times.

Comply with company policies and procedures, as well as Medicare and HIPAA guidelines.
