Buyer

The Buyer is responsible for the procurement of materials, inventory management and supply chain duties to ensure efficient delivery of product to meet customer delivery schedule. This individual must be responsive and be able to perform duties with minimal supervision. Responsibilities: Source a wide variety of commodities to extremely tight schedules.Establish strong working relationships with suppliers.Coordinate and track projects to meet or exceed customer requirements.Recognize potential problems and advise procurement management of recommended action on major purchase cost increases, delivery changes, technical and quality problems.Advises all interested parties regarding conditions affecting material availability and prices so that they may plan accordingly.Prepares a variety of reports as required to support materials management functionNegotiate best pricing considering quality and delivery requirementsComplies with and ensures department compliance with Company health, safety and environmental policies.Complies with all applicable U.S. export control and security regulations.Other duties as required.
