Telecommunications Leader

We are hiring a Telecommunications Leader to take the lead in shaping the future of our team of project managers, engineers, designers, technical staff, and more while meeting the goals of our annual business plan. The ideal candidate will have the passion to represent Ayres to our clients while mentoring our employee-owners and grow the telecommunications team. You'll be expected to have familiarity with the Florida marketplace and be able to capitalize on client relationships and market opportunities. Your professional acumen will position you to leverage the network of various clients within the telecommunications industry.On any given day, you’ll:
Develop the long-range strategic plan, the annual business plan, and the current year marketing plan for the group with particular emphasis on group P&L, capital purchase, and staff training.
Be accountable for key metrics including revenue and profitability goals, workload backlog, billing, accounts receivable, monthly reporting and image development.
Oversee the technical production of all project work, assuring conformance with the quality standards of the firm and the requirements of the contract.
Prepare and oversee quality assurance and quality control procedures.
Act as the company representative and spokesperson in the community, as well as be active in civic and professional organizations.
Conduct business development including client contact, marketing, and monitoring client satisfaction.
Supervise the work activities of all project managers, engineers, technicians, and other assigned specialists.
Supervise and manage office and field staff.
Provide for and guide staff development.
Understand and support corporate policies and procedures.
Other duties may include:
Assist with the preparation of contract documents including scope of work, project schedule, and fee estimates, and negotiate with clients and sub-consultants.
Coordinate with other operational divisions to cultivate a team environment that leads to efficient and collaborative results.
Support and assist with the growth of the telecommunications business beyond the local geography.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
Prior experience in supervising staff, managing projects, and developing new and maintaining existing clients.
Eagerness to cultivate a team environment where all staff members feel valued and supported and all ideas flow freely.
Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to coordinate with client contacts and other agencies.
Ability to work independently and with other team members in multiple offices.
Good problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
Self-motivated, performance-driven with excellent people skills.
Proven business development skills and a strong reputation with clients.
Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
Desired Skills and Experiences:
Professional registration in the area of expertise.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
10 years of experience in the telecommunications market.
Experience in a consulting or engineering firm
Well-established existing network of contacts within the telecommunications industry.
Familiarity with Civil3D/AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
Skills in CenturyLink NDS platform or other client specific platforms.
Understanding of roadway, including FDOT construction plans and telecom road relocation design.
Familiarity and experience with utility locates/SUE.
Familiarity with GIS.
