Lead Tech, Building Automation Systems
Florida, Orlando, 32801 Orlando USAJOB SUMMARY: Supports management in directing and coordinating activities of the department and employees. Leading a team of Building Automation Systems (BAS) Technicians that install, repair, and commission the computer-based control systems that monitor a building's mechanical and electrical equipment including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), chiller plants and energy management systems. Interfacing with Leadership and Customers to service our client’s BAS needs. Support miscellaneous UO Maintenance and Ride/show department electronic/energy management needs. Coordinate with Operations personnel to identify and analyze system problems. Monitor Honeywell & Johnson Controls Fire Alarm Life Safety Systems.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plans and delegates work tasks. Delegates work assignments among qualified BAS Technicians. Communicates performance expectations in an effort to ensure proper completion of tasks. Provides feedback for recognition and performance improvement.
Actively reinforces company safety guidelines and programs; reports non-compliance. Monitors employee’s productivity, work habits. Leads work startup and stoppage, schedules breaks. Monitors care, condition, use and storage of tools, equipment and other UO property. Maintains material inventories. Monitors compliance with wardrobe/grooming standards, driving policy, radio usage, and other UO policies.
Ensures proper completion of documentation. Captures written behaviors using the Lead Observation Report to support managerial and supervisory documentation.
Communicates and coordinates with other departments or crafts as resource needs and work plans to supervision. Provides two-way communications between work team, supervisor, and other management and HR personnel.
Performs job duties as described in non-lead job description. Maintains and shares job knowledge, assists in developing employees.
Assist with training new and current employees. Assigns who will provide daily training.
Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
High school degree or GED required.
Technical School or Associate degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
7+ years BAS control technician experience (Required).
Experience with computer-based software is (Required).
Honeywell EBI Life Safety maintenance/monitoring (Preferred).
Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Valid Florida Driver’s License required to operate company vehicles.
Niagara Framework Technical Certification (Preferred), Johnson Controls Metasys (ADS/ADX) (Preferred), Honeywell or any other BAS/DDC System (Preferred).
Certificate of completion from Electronics training course or advance DDC controls class preferred.
