Outreach Specialist 2The University of Miami/UHealth department of Neurology has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Outreach Specialist 2 to work at the UHealth Medical Campus.Core Summary The Outreach Specialist 2 (H) supports in developing and implementing new and existing public education and outreach programs, serving as a liaison to the community. Moreover, the incumbent performs a wide variety of duties and demonstrates a high level of professionalism and effectiveness. The Outreach Specialist 2 utilizes project management skills to organize community outreach activities.Core Responsibilities
Supports in the development and implementation of public education and outreach programs.
Works with community-based organizations to plan promotional educational and other events targeted towards designing an increased awareness in the community.
Assists in the publishing activities: writing, editing, budgeting, scheduling, and distribution. Interacts effectively with outside advertising agencies, printers, photographers, and other vendors.
Aids with the preparation and distribution of public health education and navigation manuals.
Identifies effective strategies for promoting enrollment in ongoing studies, conducting active and passive recruitment, in-person, and online outreach.
Conducts brief surveys by phone and in community settings.
Aids with compiling data for presentations.
Develops professional relationships with mental health providers, researchers, and community members.
Collaborates with other members of the team on special projects and events.
Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
Department Specific Functions The Outreach Specialist 2 will support the Florida Stroke Registry and the Florida Coverdell Program in developing and implementing new and existing public education and outreach programs, serving as a liaison to the community.
Manage and maintain various excel spreadsheets containing stakeholder documentation (i.e., participating hospital and EMS system names, addresses, certification level, and associated representatives; community member participants within project committees; Community Health Worker agency location, , etc.).
manage the collection of stakeholders contact and agency information
Assist with meeting coordination tasks, such as scheduling and assisting in developing meeting minutes and agendas.
Assist faculty with recruiting students and scheduling FSR Educational Courses (i.e., Community Health Workers Course; EMS training; etc)
Assist in the development and implementation of FSR Educational Course quizzes and surveys
Manage the FSR’s community engagement activities (i.e., DOCS Health Fairs, other Community Outreach events), helping to identify staff participants and leading in organizing scheduling and itemizing braded materials for distribution.
Assist in formatting and typesetting the monthly state reports for the Florida Stroke Registry and related projects including Coverdell
Lead the development of the draft monthly reports (collect content from other team members and provide a final draft)
Contribute to annual meeting event planning tasks (i.e., hotel arrangements, contract negotiations, assisting with CME/CE professional credit applications, planning committee scheduling, team member reimbursements, organizing meeting educational materials).
Track exhibitor payments for participation in the annual meeting.
Contribute to the development of the Annual Report
Maintain/update website and listserv accounts and the website.
Contribute to the publication and presentation of significant results and writes and edits material for publication and presentation.
Assist with program annual meeting guest and team (follow-up and gathering of required documentation).
Assist with maintenance and purchasing of website, software, data user accounts, other programmatic. equipment/supplies, as well as annual meeting costs (2020 – hotel, site, food; printing; supplies).
Assist with internal and external meetings, developing and tracking doodle polls, and conference room scheduling.

Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
Minimum 4 years of relevant experience
