Import/export clerk

Description We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Import/Export Clerk to coordinate and manage our international trade operations. This position plays a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with international trade regulations and customs laws and arranging successful shipments and deliveries on an international scale.Responsibilities:

Coordinate and arrange import and export shipments, ensuring compliance with both domestic and foreign trade regulations.

Process and track orders efficiently to ensure timely delivery.

Prepare and manage documentation including bills of lading, packing lists, commercial invoices, and customs paperwork.

Communicate with carriers, freight forwarders, customs agents, and customers to arrange pick-ups and deliveries.

Calculate and coordinate storage, insurance, and tariff charges.

Liaise with government agencies for issues related to import/export permits, duties, and licenses.

Keep records of all imports and exports for audit purposes.

Notify customers of any delays or problems that might affect delivery.

Requirements

Skills & Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in logistics or supply chain management is an asset.

Proven experience in import/export or logistics with knowledge of local and international import/export legislation.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and database management.

Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills.

Detail-oriented with the ability to handle paperwork effectively.

Basic accounting skills to calculate duties, freight costs and other relevant expenses.

Capable of working under pressure to meet tight deadlines

Bilingual; english and spanish
