As part of the team, you will have access to an unparalleled network of resources and endless opportunities to collaborate on exciting projects with diverse teammates from across the globe.This OpportunityWSP is currently recruiting a Water Resource Engineer with 5+ years of experience to work with an established practice that is developing innovative solutions for resiliency and sustainability of both the built and natural environment. We use innovative modeling to incorporate natural resource-based solutions as well as protecting the built environment.The position is available in any of our Florida offices (Tampa, Lakeland, Gainesville, Orlando, Jacksonville, Pensacola, West Palm Beach, and Tallahassee) and will support watershed management, stormwater design, environmental compliance, investigation, wetland restoration, and water quality restoration projects. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering Sciences from an accredited four-year college or university. Master’s degree is a plus. Experience with hydraulic and hydrologic modeling (e.g. ICPR, SWMM, HEC-RAS) is required, statistical analysis, GIS training or knowledge is desired, AutoCAD knowledge is desired, and water quality modeling and programming skills are considered beneficial. Must have experience with data management and technical writing. The ideal candidate has experience with implementing stormwater models into design plans for construction. Project management skills required, and must be able to perform QA/QC related tasks for hydrologic models.Your Impact

Serves as project engineer on water resource related projects

Organizing, scheduling, and prioritizing assignments and tasks

Performs standard or routine calculations;

Preparing and checking project design, calculations, and drawings

Prepare / assist in the preparation of permit applications and supporting materials

Follow company safety policies and procedures, site safety standards and permit requirements

Performs site visits and contractor field oversight as needed in order to sign off on construction certification of completions

Prepares technical reports documenting the work performed and findings of investigations

Compiles information from reports and published documents; Evaluates and/or analyses the compiled information following standard methods and best engineering judgement

Who You AreRequired Qualifications

5+ years of prior related work experience

Bachelor’s Degree in related field

Experience with office productivity and industry-specific hydrologic and hydraulic software (e.g., MSOffice, ESRI GIS,EPA SWMM, HEC-RAS, MIKE SHE and ICPR)

Must have sound written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work in varying environments (office, lab and field settings)

Ability to swim

Demonstrated professional judgment, consistency and attention to detail as well as a track record of producing quality work products

Demonstrated experience working successfully in a team environment, whether it be remotely or locally

Flexibility to work outside normal business hours as required

Ability to establish effective internal and external working relationships

Ability to communicate clearly with clients or supervisor and other project managers regarding project expectations and requirements

Valid Florida driver’s license; and must pass background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy

Applicant must have the ability to work in varying environments (office, lab and field settings)

Preferred Qualifications

Professional Engineer License in Florida or ability to obtain within 6 months

Experience conducting data analyses with statistical software
