This position works with Human Resources staff & the Director of Operations to recruit, interview, select, and hire employees Assists Director of Operations with performance appraisals, and coaches and counsels employees as needed. This position is responsible for preparing schedules and approving time, coordinating lunches and breaks to ensure the area has coverage at all times when the supervisor is not present in the area and reporting any conflicts or issues directly to their supervisor. Plans and allocates resources to effectively staff and accomplish the work to meet department productivity and quality goals. Triage and Accessioning training and workflow-This position is responsible for training new staff members on the day/evening shift and providing the proper instruction they need to complete their training. This position will be responsible for troubleshooting and documenting any issues that come up in the day/evening shift and report directly to their supervisor any and all issues that arise. Cover the triage and accessioning duties of the assigned staff in the event of unexpected volumes or staffing issues. This includes receiving samples into the laboratory and routing the samples to the testing department.Policy and Procedure Management-This position is responsible for maintaining updated policies available in procedure manuals. Assists in preparing procedures to meet regulatory requirements and upload them to the computer system. Ensure employee compliance with the policies and procedures. Ensure area meets safety and regulatory requirements.Data Analysis and Meeting Engagement -Prepare monthly Quality Assurance reports and present to QA committee. Be able to act upon QA values that are outside of established benchmarks. Participate in meetings. Monitor group expenses. Assist with development and usage of UFHPL databases and information systems. Provide Epic based reports pertaining to received specimens and more, as needed. The individual in this position will be expected to display a positive attitude to promote a good working environment and positive morale for the rest of the staff in this area on a daily basisInventory Monitoring -Track inventory usage for the entire triage and accessioning department. Notify appropriate staff to order inventory. Track inventory orders for delivery. Note any deviations from the order. Submit packing lists for timely payment.Other duties as assignedHelp with miscellaneous duties which include but not limited to bagging up Biohazard trash and transporting it to the appropriate location, moving emptied Fed Ex packages each week, etc.Any such duties needed to keep the triage area running smoothly and performing the work in an accurate, organized and timely manner. Perform any duties assigned by supervisionExpected Salary:Starting salary is between $20.00 - $24.00 per hourMinimum Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent and six years of medical office experience, that includes knowledge of CPT and ICD-9 coding guidelines as well as basic medical terminology. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute an equivalent rate for the required experience. Preferred Qualifications:Communication skills which will allow the prospective employee to interact with UF physicians, client physicians, and other health professionals in a professional manner. Ability to work in a potentially stressful environment. Ability to quickly learn various aspects of Lab Operations. Knowledge of Medical terminology.
