Mentor and train lower level technicians.Coordinates materials and supplies for larger projectsCoordinates paperwork and process for scheduled work outagesPerforms repairs and preventive maintenance on faucets, sinks, traps, commodes, urinals, and flush valvesPerforms repairs and preventive maintenance on gas, vacuum, air, chilled, steam, and hot water linesDetects the location of gas leaks and repairs accordinglyInstalls and maintains sump pumpsRepairs and changes out air compressors, booster pumps, and vacuum pumpsRepairs and replaces plumbing fixtures including backflow preventersInstalls, maintains, repairs, and replaces sanitary and storm sewer lines, including rod sewer linesCleans and maintains shop and personal plumbing equipment and personal protective equipment [5%] - Provides support to other trades and contractorsInstalls and repairs plumbing for laboratories and classrooms including safety showers, drinking fountains, deionized water, water heaters, point of use water filters, domestic, and reverse osmosis systems, pools, and waterfall fountains.Performs fume hood valve and vacuum breaker repair

NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE -from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.-40hrs

Expected Salary:Expected starting salary $22.00 - $25.69 Hourly based on experience and certification.Minimum Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent and four years of experience in the procedures and methods for installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing fixtures, heating fixtures, and accessories; appropriate vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.Currently NCCER Certified Plus in trade or pass NCCER knowledge verification within 6 months. Complete CORE and a trade specific Critical Task Assessment within 6 months.

Backflow preventer certification for testing
Preferred Qualifications:KNOWLEDGE
Vast knowledge of reading mechanical prints and drawings
Excellent working knowledge of plumbing distribution and mechanical codes
SKILLS
Skill in using pipe cutter, reamer, threading machines, and other specialized tools and equipment
ABILITIES
Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments
Ability to communicate effectively
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
Ability to solder copper fittings through 4 inches in size without leaks
Ability to operate propress fitting tools (copper compression and cast iron snap cutters)
Ability to locate and repair gas leaks
Ability to repair piping
Ability to replace diaphragms
Ability to maintain chemical readings for pools and fountains
[Ability to maintain deionized (DI) and reverse osmosis (RO) systems for HSC]
