The Water Business Line of AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented Water/Wastewater Principal Engineer and Technical Leader for our Orlando office or this person can be based in any of our Florida offices. The ideal candidate will have in depth experience with design of municipal conveyance, pumping systems and treatment plant projects.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Manage projects, including scoping, task management, invoicing and final closeout. Plans, schedules, conducts and coordinates detailed design phases of the engineering work.Supervise and mentor junior staff.Serve as a technical advisor for the team.Lead planning, design, permitting and construction phase services for water and wastewater projects.Communicate project tasks between offices – high level of coordination and communication skills required.Provide specialist technical input to studies and designs.Participate in inter-disciplinary reviews of project deliverables.Develop construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.Prepare written reports and make technical presentations to clients and internally to colleagues.Responsibilities may include overseeing the planning and design of various project elements, preparation of reports, hydraulic models, calculations, drawings, construction plans and specifications, permitting packages and documents.Carry out quality control reviews of design calculations or drawings.Prepare technical specification sections for project deliverables.Coordination with clients, sub-consultants, regulatory agencies, and members of the public will be necessary to accomplish assigned objectives Minimum Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Engineering – preferably Civil or Environmental8+ years of related experience, with progressive experience as PE/PM in municipal water/wastewater infrastructure engineering design, assessment and rehabilitation, conveyance, and pumping systemsMust be a licensed Professional EngineerProven leadership skills and demonstrated ability to successfully manage diverse teamsDemonstrated project management experience including delivering projects successfully, on time and on budgetCapable of contributing to business development activities, pursuing new clients/projectsMust have a proven track record of leading technical engineering teams and successfully managing water and wastewater projects, resulting in securing additional projects from clientsMust have a valid driver's license Preferred Qualifications:Experience working in the Fort Myers area for water/wastewater/stormwater utilities is highly preferredExperience in managing and/or delivering projects by “alternative delivery” approaches is a plus At AECOM, we’re delivering a better world.We believe infrastructure creates opportunity for everyone.
