Job Summary: The supervisor is responsible for overseeing the ink mixing processes, ensuring product quality control, inventory management, and shipping. This role involves supervising a small team of production, warehouse, and lab personnel, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards, and coordinating with other departments to achieve production goals.
Supervision and Team Management:
Supervise and lead a team of production/lab personnel, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluations.
Ensure team adherence to company policies and safety regulations.
Foster a collaborative and positive work environment.
Ink Mixing Operations:
Oversee the daily ink mixing operations, ensuring accurate formulation according to customer specifications and production requirements.
Monitor and maintain the quality of inks produced, conducting tests and inspections as needed.
Troubleshoot and resolve any issues in the ink mixing process promptly.
Quality Control:
Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure consistent product quality.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with the quality assurance team to address any non-conformities or
customer complaints.
Inventory Management:
Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and supplies required for ink mixing.
Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure timely ordering and delivery of
materials.
Maintain accurate records of inventory usage and production outputs.
Process Improvement:
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in ink mixing technologies and techniques.
Train team members on new procedures and technologies as needed.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain detailed records of ink formulations, production batches, and quality control tests.
Prepare and present regular reports on production metrics, team performance, and improvement initiatives to the Production Manager.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Associate or bachelor’s degree in chemistry, manufacturing, or related field
preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in ink business or a related production environment, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory role.
Skills:
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
Proficiency in using production management software and tools.
Knowledge of ink formulation and quality control procedures.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Knowledge of SAP Business One a plus.
