Staff Accountant

Description If you're a skilled accountant and enjoy solving complex problems, Robert Half is currently looking for a talented Staff Accountant to join their efforts in the Amusement/Recreation Ser/Entertainment industry on a permanent basis. As Staff Accountant, you will prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. Throughout the monthly close, you will also be responsible for various aspects of internal reporting. You will lend your skills in assisting the development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will take part in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and look over schedules for the reporting processes. This intricate position is involved in the production of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. This is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity in the Daytona Beach, Florida area, at a company where effort is rewarded.Responsibilities

Produce journal entries and perform the month end close under minimal supervision

Assist with the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks

Organize and review various financial data, then report it in a manner that is useful and understandable

Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls. Also ensure that accounting procedures comply with GAAP

In-depth knowledge of reconciling month end balance sheet accounts

Ad hoc reporting and performing special projects upon request

Handle intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation

Periodically maintain and reconcile journal entries

Compose analyses for income statements and monthly balance sheets for management reporting

Partake in a variety of department-wide initiatives

Manage depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation

Assemble journal entries and thorough account reconciliations that include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll

Organize schedules for monthly payments and capital lease

Account analysis experience required

Contract Pricing experience desired

Microsoft Excel experience preferred

Strong familiarity with royalty statements

Strong organizational skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines

Exemplary analytical, quantitative and social skills

Competent with spreadsheets and databases

Excellent attention to detail

Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment

2+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience

Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities

Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases

BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting
