PAY: $26-32/hr. (negotiable)
HOURS: 40+
SCHEDULE: 7:00 am - 3:30 pm

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Pipefitter Foreman to lead and supervise pipefitting crews on industrial, commercial, or residential construction projects. The Pipefitter Foreman will be responsible for ensuring that all pipe systems are installed, maintained, and repaired according to specifications, while also managing the daily operations of the pipefitting team. This role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and a deep knowledge of pipefitting techniques, materials, and safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervision and Team Leadership:
Lead and supervise a crew of pipefitters, welders, and apprentices, ensuring that all work is performed safely and efficiently.
Delegate tasks and responsibilities to team members based on their skills and experience.
Train and mentor junior pipefitters and apprentices in pipefitting techniques, safety procedures, and best practices.
Project Planning and Coordination:
Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other trades to review project plans and specifications for pipe installations.
Assist in the planning, scheduling, and coordination of pipefitting activities to ensure timely project completion.
Ensure the availability of necessary tools, materials, and equipment to avoid delays in project execution.
Pipe System Installation and Maintenance:
Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of piping systems, including cutting, threading, grooving, and bending pipes according to specifications.
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and piping diagrams to determine project requirements and ensure proper installation.
Install and maintain various types of pipes such as PVC, copper, steel, and other materials used in plumbing, heating, and industrial piping systems.
Quality Assurance:
Inspect work completed by the crew to ensure it meets quality standards and is in compliance with project specifications and codes.
Identify and address potential problems early to prevent delays or rework, ensuring a high level of workmanship.
Safety Management:
Promote and enforce strict adherence to safety protocols, procedures, and OSHA regulations on-site to maintain a safe working environment.
Conduct regular safety meetings and site inspections to identify and mitigate any potential hazards.
Ensure all team members are using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following safety guidelines.
Problem Solving and Troubleshooting:
Address and resolve issues related to pipefitting, material shortages, equipment malfunctions, or unexpected site conditions.
Work with engineers and other trades to troubleshoot and resolve complex piping issues, ensuring proper functionality of the system.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of daily activities, including crew hours, material usage, and progress reports.
Complete and submit daily logs, timesheets, safety reports, and other documentation required by the project manager or company.
Collaboration and Communication:
Serve as the point of contact between the pipefitting crew and project management.
Communicate project progress, delays, and issues to relevant stakeholders in a timely and professional manner.
Coordinate with other trades on-site to ensure smooth workflow and resolve any conflicts related to scheduling or workspace.
Tool and Equipment Management:
Ensure the proper use and maintenance of tools and equipment used for pipefitting, including welding equipment, pipe cutters, and threading machines.
Report any damaged or malfunctioning tools and ensure repairs or replacements are made as needed.
Qualifications:
Education/Training: High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a pipefitting apprenticeship program or technical training is preferred.
Experience: 5+ years of experience as a pipefitter, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
Knowledge: Strong knowledge of piping systems, including installation techniques, materials, and safety standards. Familiarity with blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
Certifications: Relevant certifications such as OSHA 30, welding certification, or pipefitter journeyman certification are preferred.
Skills:
Excellent leadership and communication skills to manage a team and collaborate with other trades.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, piping diagrams, and technical drawings.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing project conditions.
Proficiency in using pipefitting tools, equipment, and software.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work in various weather conditions and on physically demanding tasks such as lifting heavy equipment and working in confined spaces.
Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
