Air Novations is currently looking for an experienced COMMERCIAL HVAC/ REFRIGERATION AND FOOD SERVICE EQUIPMENT TECHNICIAN. HVAC Technicians have several responsibilities. Depending on the specifics of a job, their primary duty is to either maintain systems or install new units. In fact, most HVAC Technicians spend much of their time alternating between these two roles. Other common responsibilities for HVAC Technicians include:

Removing old systems

Installing new systems

Performing routine maintenance

Training junior team members

Reading and interpreting wiring diagrams

Communicating with clients and customers

Meeting local HVAC codes

Punctuality, Dependability and Accountability

Perform other duties the supervisor may assign.

As a refrigeration technician, you will be responsible for processing and completing work orders, installing new refrigeration systems, troubleshooting mechanical failures, and performing equipment maintenance. You may also be required to advise on equipment upgrades and alternate cooling units. Other common responsibilities for a refrigeration technician includes:

Contacting the client to ascertain their equipment needs.

Reading and interpreting blueprints and compliance schematics.

Installing climate control systems, refrigeration units, and beverage equipment.

Observing and testing newly installed systems.

Troubleshooting refrigeration equipment failures.

Maintaining stock levels.

Replacing worn seals, outer shells, and worn-out motors.

Informing clients of repair costs and alternate cooling options.

Punctuality, Dependability and Accountability

Perform other duties the supervisor may assign.

Food service equipment technicians are responsible for maintaining, modifying, troubleshooting, and repairing a large inventory of hot and cold side of all commercial appliances. Other common responsibilities for a food service equipment technician include:

Perform repairs and maintenance duties on a wide variety of kitchen and refrigeration equipment such as walk-in freezers, industrial-sized steam cookers, refrigerators, ice machines, washers, ovens, dryers, dishwashers, and water coolers.

Carry out periodic inspection, cleaning, and equipment servicing

Carry out installation of new equipment; perform repairs on leaks, ensure settings, wiring controls, change equipment parts that have become old or defective

Collaborate with other maintenance workers, company’s officials, and staff to effectively provide solutions to maintenance problems

Attend quickly to emergency call on equipment repair issues, as well as to after work hour calls
