www.BartleyLegal.com Our firm is seeking a current law student or recent law school graduate to assist in completing real legal work under attorney supervision. The compensation is $18.00 per hour or class credit (if approved by your law school). Our firm will reimburse travel and parking expenses.
Tasks entail assisting attorneys and paralegals, legal research, drafting documents, editing documents, court filings, and administrative office duties. The legal practice areas include: Civil Litigation, Bankruptcy, Corporate and Contract Law, Wills and Trusts, Estate Administration, Landlord Tenant Disputes, Real Property, and General Practice and Advice.
The law clerk or legal intern must be a cordial person with dedication to client service to exceed clients' expectations. SALES AND CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE IS PREFERRED (e.g., experience in retail, restaurant, and phone sales service). Must possess a team-player attitude and not have a long list of things that you will not do. Must be a proactive, highly motivated, self-starter problem solver with a positive attitude and can-do spirit. Must be able to work with little to no guidance or instruction and initiate resolutions when attorneys are not in office. Must have high organization skills and computer proficiency with Google's online office suite and Microsoft Office suite. Must understand the business of a law firm and the important value a law clerk or intern contributes to an attorney. Must possess great enthusiasm and desire to learn.
Attorney supervising law clerk in office expects law clerks to engage in spirited legal discussion, active brainstorming, quid pro quo arguments, be a quick thinker, and work confidently in an independent manner.
