Meridian is seeking a Systems Engineer to work onsite in Washington DC.

The Systems Engineer will support a dedicated instance of the Meridian learning management solution for a public sector client. This position is full time at a client site and supports the installation of the Meridian LMS on a windows platform. System technologies includes ASP.net application, on top of IIS and SQL Server.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Participate in requirements gathering efforts to define/scope enhancements for stakeholders
  • Support the delivery and implementation teams, at various stages in the SDLC
  • Work with Meridian Professional Services project teams (consisting of Project Managers, Implementation Consultants, Developers, and other resources)
  • Provide issue resolution by determining root cause and alternatives to solution which best meets Meridian and client needs
  • Work with clients on translating business requirements to technical design
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external project team members to gather functional and integration requirements
  • Work with the internal teams, customers and partners to develop repeatable, streamlined processes and solutions using Meridian's offerings to accomplish the customer base LMS objectives
  • Validate technical documentation is of quality, and accurate
  • Confront internal issues openly and quickly
  • Escalate issues when needed for timely resolution

Minimum Requirements:

  • ship Required
  • Active TS/SCI Clearance w/Active Poly, an/or willingness for a Full Scope Poly.
  • Experience with Federally secured environments, including DOD STIGS and FISMA High systems.
  • Experience in administrating and configuring Windows servers.
  • Experience in administrating and configuring SQL Servers
  • Experience in administrating and configuring Active Directory domain and Group Policy
  • Demonstrated ability to schedule, execute and perform server/IIS/database administration tasks
  • Demonstrated problem solving, analytic and troubleshooting skills
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with internal development teams and customer technical representatives
  • Ability to work closely with internal Stakeholders in all stages of SDLC
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and understand priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain high quality products in a deadline-driven production environment
  • Self-starter with a proved track record of success. Solid team player with a positive attitude and a record of consistent follow through on commitments
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain high quality products in a deadline-driven production environment
  • Ability to understand functional requirements and translate into technical deign

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in administrating and configuring Cloud Based systems (AWS, Azure, etc)
  • Experience within a Federal/Fedramp environment, or environment under security compliance controls.
  • Experience in a Cloud Based SQL configuration, SQL Server as a Service
  • Experience in architecting and supporting a High Performing/High Available enterprise SQL Environment
  • Solid understanding of architecture of web applications, integration architecture, object-oriented design and relational database design
  • Experience with large-scale web/SaaS applications with web services

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelors in a related field

This job operates in an office setting which incurs moderate noise consistent with a business office. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This is a largely sedentary role; however, some physical attributes are required, for instance, manual dexterity/typing, read, count and write to accurately complete all documentation, the ability to lift up to 25 lbs. as well as, ability to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
