Our TeamOver the past 40 years, Sanofi has developed different therapies for the treatment of many rare diseases. Its first area of focus was Gaucher disease and in the past two decades Sanofi expanded its focus to Fabry disease, Pompe disease, Mucopolysaccharidosis I, and acid sphingomyelinase deficiency. One of the key pillars of our success going forward will be the success of our Medical Education, ensuring that patients, HCPs and our internal teams understand the diseases that we work with, and ensure that patients are appropriately diagnosed and treated. To that end we are creating a first-class Medical Education team within Rare Diseases.ResponsibilitiesThe Medical Education and Congress Lead will support the development of Medical Education and training content across Rare Diseases functions and therapeutic areas. They will also be responsible for the development, strategic alignment, and execution of Rare Diseases Congress strategy (aligned with overall Rare Diseases TA objectives) that will shape how the Rare Diseases Medical Team communicates with both internal and external audiences at congresses pertinent to our Rare Diseases portfolio.The Medical Education and Congress Lead will be responsible for drawing together the annual Medical Education tactics for diseases and functions across Rare Diseases, ensuring that they are represented in the Brand Plans and budgets, and that they are communicated to the Medical teams worldwide. They will also support the Medical Education function and the Global teams in keeping track of timelines, supporting contracting, ensuring that materials from across Rare Diseases are made available to countries through our Digital Assets Management system, and helping with the review process for key Medical Education tactics. The role will also work cross functionally to ensure a unified medical congress presence through execution on all pre-, and post- Scientific congress activities, and will be a key person in organizing training and Medical Education events, and team events for the Rare Diseases Medical team. They will collect and report the KPIs for these tactics, as well as overall KPIs for the Medical Education team.The Medical Education and Congress Lead will work independently under minimal supervision and direction constantly analysing business needs with assurance of meeting unique stakeholder objectives. They will act as the project lead in process improvement implementations, and exercise influence on the overall objectives and long-range goals of the Medical Education function. This individual will perform daily tasks that require decision making and the consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion. This is a role for someone that wants to come into a new team with aggressive goals, who enjoys a steep learning curve, and wants to make a significant impact on the organization and on patients with Rare Diseases.Main Responsibilities

Support the therapeutic areas and functions within Rare Diseases to implement the best practices and processes developed for Medical Education tactics

Strategize and tailor congress capabilities and incorporate metrics on all medical activities at congresses in a specific therapeutic area (TA).

Plan and maintain the budget for Medical Education tactics across Rare Diseases

Support Rare Diseases teams in implementing and refining processes around review of materials, timelines for content generation, distribution to countries through the Digital Assets Management system, and contracting with vendors and with KOLs

Act as the point person on planning committees for Rare Diseases Global Medical at key congresses during the year, and at other medical education and training events

Prepare and debrief teams for key congresses with pre-congress training and post-congress lessons learned as appropriate

Support offsites and learning events for the Rare Diseases medical team, coordinating subject matter experts and aligning with leadership on objectives and agendas

Contribute to other training and medical education events and activities in the Medical Education team

About you

Experience: Operations & project management experience, preferably within Medical Affairs or the Pharmaceutical industry. Demonstrated successful experience with managing budgets, calendars and distribution lists. Event management experience. Experience of leading in a matrix environment, and working on congress deliverables, would be beneficial. Experience in rare diseases would be beneficial.

Soft skills: Strong strategic and leadership skills as well as analytical skills, with a focus on overall process and support services. Strong communications skills and the ability to work well with cross-functional members

Technical skills: Experience with Excel, Teams and SharePoint, plus other database, project management and communication tools

Education: Doctoral level degree (PharmD, PhD or MD)

Languages: Fluent communicator in English
