General Purpose
Join our team as a Facilities Technician III, where you'll play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the city's buildings and systems. This journey-level position offers a dynamic work environment, and you'll handle various tasks, from routine maintenance to complex installations and repairs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform interior and exterior maintenance and repairs on City buildings.
- Work with plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems.
- Manage complex electronic control systems.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure optimal building performance and safety.
What We're Looking For:
- Proficiency in plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems.
- Experience with electronic control systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or GED required. Must have at least five years’ experience in the construction trades or related field, including at least two years experience with HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, or electrical systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, generators, and boilers.
An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.
Must possess a CFC certificate or the ability to obtain it within three months of hire and maintain it throughout employment. A valid CO driver's license required or the ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
Knowledge of:
The principles and practices or facility maintenance and safety practices
Diagnostic equipment and computer monitoring and control systems
City and department policies and procedures
(Advanced knowledge of) HVAC equipment, boiler operations, circulating pumps, compressors, steam generators, exhaust fans, condenser units, swamp coolers, water softeners, refrigeration, hot water heaters, and other related equipment
Skill in
Computer usage to include the completion of forms and paperwork, use of email, and researching technical issues
The use of tools, equipment, and machinery necessary to perform various maintenance and repair tasks
Prioritizing assignments needing completion
Troubleshooting low voltage controls
Ability to
Read and interpret complex technical instructions and operating manuals
Understand and work from schematics and blueprints
Perform on-call duties as assigned
Ability to work successfully in a team environment
Communicate effectively with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds
React calmly and thoughtfully under pressure
Take initiative and complete tasks without direction
