job title: Entry Level & Experienced HVAC Installer + Techs
Elite Mechanical is seeking a hard working person to fill an open position for the summer or permanently. Both entry level + experienced positions are currently available. If you are a young and driven individual who wants to learn and make good money in the process, Elite Mechanical is interested in you! We are looking to hire both part time and full time employment seekers and are willing to work with you. We have work all the way from Castle Rock to Longmont and can assign you to an area of town you're comfortable working in.
Entry level compensation: $20-$24/hour.
Technicians/Installers: $32-$45/hour (Must know how to braze, use a vacuum, etc.)
Must have own hand tools + drill, we will provide all necessary power tools.

- HVAC technicians may work in a variety of locations, including factories, retail stores, office buildings, schools, hospitals, residential homes, and apartments. The job can be stressful at times, especially during peak demand season from May through to September.
- HVAC technicians should have extensive knowledge of HVAC technologies and customer service skills. They should also adhere to safety procedures and guidelines while on job sites, and comply with appliance standards and OSHA.
Installation: Install new HVAC systems
- Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks and warranty work to ensure systems are safe and efficient
Repair: Diagnose and troubleshoot system malfunctions, then perform repairs
- Other responsibilities: Recharge refrigerant levels, check for leaks, and ensure the refrigerant cycle is functioning correctly. They may also perform energy-efficiency upgrades, like installing smart thermostats or sealing ducts.
HVAC Technician skills and qualifications
The ability to follow instructions and analyze systems are important qualities of a successful HVAC Technician. Additionally, an HVAC Technician is expected to know how to use computers and communicate required repair or maintenance actions to clients. Other skills an HVAC Technician needs include:
- Problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Ability to interpret schematics and wiring diagrams
- Excellent interpersonal skills to respond to clients complaints, questions and needs
- Ability to interpret technical data such as temperature and pressure
- Ability to operate and repair various HVAC equipment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
HVAC Technician experience requirements
The experience an HVAC Technician candidate will need depends on the job level. For example, candidates applying to entry-level positions might only have experience through their coursework and licensing. You may need to provide on-the-job training to these entry-level candidates. Mid- and senior-level HVAC Technician candidates typically need three to five years of experience. Be sure to adjust the required experience for the level you are looking to hire. When going through resumes, consider applicants who’ve worked similar roles. HVAC Technician education and training requirements
HVAC Technician candidates need to complete secondary school. Completing courses in air conditioning and refrigeration is a plus for an applicant. For example, successful HVAC Technician candidates have a licence to handle HVAC materials and equipment such as refrigerants. Consider applicants with a valid driver’s license if their duties involve travelling with HVAC tools and equipment to meet clients.
