Job SummaryLangan is seeking a Senior Environmental Project Manager to join its collaborative team in Denver, CO. This individual will serve a key function in identifying and managing environmental/engineering projects and proposals, conducting engineering research and analysis, and supervising field investigations and laboratory analysis. In this role, you will have the opportunity to manage diverse projects, solve problems and overcome challenges in restoring the environment and returning blighted properties to productive re-use while protecting and enhancing the environment. Langan has an immediate need for a senior level professional with expertise in regulated building materials (asbestos, lead-based paint, indoor air quality, mold) and general industrial hygiene consulting. This role will be encompass business development responsibilities paired with technical expertise with an emphasis on client marketing, developing relationships, and growing the IH&S practice with clients in the Denver area as well as other clients nationally and internationally. As a Senior Regulated Building Materials Professional with Langan, you'll be a key provider of needed services to many of our clients across all market sectors and geographical locations. The Regulated Building Materials practice is a diverse and dynamic team that executes a wide variety of environmental, health, and safety projects for diverse market sectors. Job Responsibilities
Market, sell, develop, manage, and conduct a wide variety of regulated building materials and industrial hygiene and safety services in the Denver area as well as supporting national clients and programs throughout the country. The majority of the work will consist of asbestos, lead-based paint, regulated building materials (PCBs, mercury, ODS/CFCs), IAQ/mold consulting services and a variety of compliance IH work.
Preparing winning proposals and managing asbestos, lead-based paint, and other regulated building materials surveys and abatement projects; chemical and noise exposure assessments; indoor air and mold investigations, HVAC system-ventilation assessments, and the development and review of health and safety plans (HASPs).
Oversee the preparation of high quality project proposals, reports and deliverables; coordinate and conduct the necessary review of project documents with in-house consultants, client representatives, contractors and others required to work as a team on projects;
Perform complex analyses for specific portions of broader engineering and environmental projects;
Participate in the identification and pursuit of new clients, develop additional work within an existing project and attend business development meetings with new and existing clients;
Provide direct oversight and management of junior staff for specific project assignments. Coach, train, and motivate staff assigned to Environmental projects. Participate in interviewing and hiring staff;
Supervise field activities and ensure correct interpretations of findings. Ensure that data collection and laboratory analyses are completed correctly, within budget, and on time;
Manage and deliver on multiple projects and tasks within specific budgets, schedules, and deadlines. Prepare progress reports and draft change orders. Prepare draft invoices, project billings, and assist in payment collections;
Coordinate other work groups within the same or different office locations and/or within the same or different disciplines on an as-needed basis;
Interface effectively and professionally with clients, contractors, subcontractors, staff, project personnel, supervisors, and others; and
Perform other duties as requested.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Hydrogeology, or Science; Master’s degree preferred;
In-depth knowledge and understanding of EPA, CERCLA, and RCRA regulations;
10+ years of practical experience with environmental investigations and remediation projects;
Professional Geologist (PG) or Professional Engineer (PE) required;
State-accredited/licensed asbestos inspector, management planner, project designer, and/or project manager;
Experience in a client oriented consulting environment with focus on industrial hygiene practice, specifically Asbestos, lead-based paint, and regulated building materials management, chemical and noise exposure assessments, and indoor air quality and mold evaluations, and HVAC ventilation system assessments;
Demonstrated experience working in multiple states and locations, and being knowledgeable of multiple state and regional regulations;
EPA lead paint inspector or risk assessor and/or lead project designer
Industry recognized certification in industrial hygiene (e.g. CIH, IHT) and/or indoor environmental or air quality consulting (e.g. CIEC, CIAQP);
Strong people, project, and client management skills;
Knowledge of quantitative/technical analyses and related software;
Excellent public speaking, written, and verbal communication skills;
Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities;
Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment; and
Possess reliable transportation for client meetings and job site visits and a valid driver’s license in good standing.

Base Salary Range: $112,000 - $135,000. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as related work experience, market conditions, education/training, certifications and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills. This position is also eligible to participate in the firm's annual bonus and performance review program. Bonuses are discretionary and based on individual job performance and the profitability of the firm.
