Salary Range: $81.11/hour - $95.38/hourJob Summary:Oversees and provides strategic leadership by setting best practices for maintenance of facilities, exteriors, and grounds. Provides expertise and oversight to teams on buildings and equipment through the application of facilities management practices, services. Establishes strategic efforts and updates standard protocols for the disposal of materials including general waste, regulated/hazardous materials, or other applicable contents and maintains appropriate licensure or permits for relevant regulatory parties. Oversees maintenance of safety through the inspection of and preparation for drills and facilities operations. Establishes broad-scoped strategic direction for a region to assure budgets are met and improved upon in projects across the facilities management and that timelines of projects are maintained. Oversees and creates partnerships for space and occupancy planning under direction of space planning groups. Oversees partnerships with technical support teams to provide technical support for relevant technologies within the facilities.Essential Responsibilities:

Oversees the operation of multiple units within a department by identifying member and operational needs; ensures the management of work assignment completion; translates business strategy into actionable business requirements; ensures products and/or services meet member requirements and expectations while aligning with organizational strategies. Gains cross-functional support for business plans and priorities; assumes responsibility for decision making; sets standards, measures progress, and fosters resolution of escalated issues. Communicates goals and objectives; analyzes resources, costs, and forecasts and incorporates them into business plans; prioritizes and distributes resources. Removes obstacles that impact performance; guides performance and develops contingency plans accordingly; ensures teams accomplish business objectives.

Maintains hospital and campus grounds by: overseeing and setting strategic planning for teams to schedule and establish vendor contracts for landscaping services needed to maintain the upkeep of grounds and public sidewalks; and defining best practice and service standards for completing landscaping equipment repairs across the organization.

Supports the maintenance of buildings, equipment, and amenities by: using expert knowledge in several facilities management professional fields to resolve mechanical building problems (e.g., energy management, waste management, asbestos abatement, moving services, space planning, and emergency management); developing complex, organization-wide processes used by others to repair building equipment, tools, machinery, and amenities to ensure they are in working condition; and implements standards used to address and prioritize preventative maintenance requests to maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic environmental work area.

Supports compliance efforts by: developing advanced processes according to Title 22, CMS, CDPH, and TJC to record, monitor, and manage the disposal of regulated medical, patient, and employee information (e.g., Protected Health Information), pharmaceutical, and hazardous waste materials; and developing organization wide policies to ensure required licenses and operating permits are maintained across the team in accordance with local, state, and federal regulation.

Supports safety, inspection, and emergency preparation by: developing clear solutions for complex processes for others to coordinate with the local authorities to plan drills according to NFPA and Life Safety Code across multiple service areas and advising others on the completion of highly complex reports based on drill outcomes and monitoring report completion and results; and influencing organization wide processes for conducting inspection tours to ensure the efficient and uninterrupted operation of the facility.

Supports facility improvement and budget management by: enforcing strategies used to estimate, track, and adjust the operating program budget for improvement projects; conducting strategic planning to determine the facility, renovation, and operational programs needed to ensure that buildings are maintained in a safe and operationally effective condition; overseeing the maintenance projects across a region such as designing, remodeling, renovating, and equipping facilities with capabilities to reduce costs and improve service; and determining the future direction of organization-wide maintenance projects and methods to track project status.

Supports projects related to space and occupancy planning by: guiding strategic planning and work of others according to interpretation of complex blueprints specifications for the remodeling or installation of building add-ons to set the future direction; forecasting organizational needs and guiding organization-wide solutions to fulfill requests for office space, move dates, furniture equipment, telephone, data equipment, post move adjustments, and building maintenance; and setting the organizations strategy to manage space and occupancy planning across the organization to coordinate the use of administrative space.

Contributes to technical support by: developing and enforcing organization wide strategies on a wide range of complex issues including infrastructure equipment, HVAC equipment and facilities, video conferencing equipment, telephone, and network installation in partnership with technical teams for network problems; and using innovative logic to drive state-of-the-art solutions used by others to test newly installed machines and equipment to ensure contracting specifications are fulfilled.

Supports vendor and contract management by: conducting strategic planning for the review of services rendered and invoices, and collect construction details to evaluate vendor performance against service-level agreements, capabilities, and quality; working with senior management and contacts to clarify business needs, develop project specifications, and identify vendor services related to operations and other essential services; and creating metrics and standards for vendor performance for contracts across the organization using specific, core metrics to ensure adherence to contractual provisions, regulatory specifications, and compliance with the organizations policy in support of the organizations strategic vision.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum five (5) years of experience managing operational or project budgets.

Minimum three (3) years of experience in a leadership role with direct reports.

Minimum two (2) years of experience working with Incident Command Centers.

Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Public Health, Engineering, Public Administration, Health Care Administration, Engineering, Construction, Industrial Hygiene, Architectural, or related field AND minimum ten (10) years of experience in facility maintenance/management or directly related field OR Minimum thirteen (13) years of experience in facility maintenance/operations or a directly related field.
