Cork Dork Restaurant and Wine Bar

Job Brief:

We are a busy restaurant and wine bar currently hiring for a Host and Event Coordinator. You

will oversee the host stand and special event coordination and execution. To excel in this

role, you should be comfortable standing for long periods, be highly organized, have excellent

customer service/communication skills, and be able to manage a hectic shift.

Job Responsibilities:

 Answer phone calls, take reservations, and reply to questions

 Greet guests provide outstanding customer service as the initial point of contact to

represent our restaurant and add guests to our waitlist as necessary

 Seat guests and tour guide them through our digital menus, guide their

experience and answer questions

 Assign guests to tables based on preferences while keeping table rotation in mind so

that servers receive the correct number of customers

 Engage with guests to ensure they are happy with their food, service, and overall

experience

 Respond to complaints and help to resolve them

 Have a strong knowledge of the menu

 Book special events, large parties and understand requirements for each event

 Plan events with attention to financial and time constraints

 Manage event operations (preparation, being the point of contact, and execution)

 Help with other positions in the restaurant as needed

Job Requirements:

 High school diploma or equivalent, restaurant experience is a plus

 Ability to provide top-notch customer service in a fast-paced restaurant environment

 Well-organized with multi-tasking and problem-solving skills

 A proven track record of organizing successful events

 A positive attitude, ability to remain calm and work well under pressure

 Does high-quality work unsupervised, follows instructions, and asks for clarification

 Able to work in a standing position for long periods.

 Able to safely lift and easily maneuver trays of food when necessary

 Able to handle money accurately and operate a point-of-sale system
