Warehouse Technician for Window & Door Company
California, San luis obispo 00000 San luis obispo USAA-1 Glass is a family owned and operated company on the Central Coast that is looking for an awesome candidate to join our Warehouse Team. This is a great opportunity to be a valuable long term part of a local company with an amazing team of employees.
This role will support all receiving, loading, special handling and inventory management of our windows, doors and glass products and will work closely with the Warehouse Manager, Project Managers and Installation Teams to facilitate all activities within our warehouse facility. This professional multitasker ensures clean, quality and safety standards are met on the premises and is able to track multiple facets of the warehouse at any given time as well as ensures efficient, organized storage. This role achieves inventory accuracy, coordinates deliveries with the office team, and tracks shipping/product arrival times as well as supports management teams in grounds keeping duties.
Additionally, this role provides secondary support in field installations and deliveries as needed, giving you an opportunity to learn a new trade.
Objectives of this Role
Ensure the warehouse operates at peak efficiency, with safety, organization and cleanliness the primary goal
Follow warehouse operations standard operating procedures including product handling and storage requirements, equipment utilization, inventory management, receiving and loading processes
Support in day-to-day operational tasks for the Warehouse Department to reach short- and long-term performance goals
Be an integral part of the daily warehouse operations, with accountability of the inventory and logistics
Offload and load installation vehicles daily
Responsibilities:
Support daily activities of the warehouse including but not limited to: quality checks upon receipt of product, inventory control, ordering, space management, logistics, cleanliness, grounds keeping, shop maintenance, deliveries, parking lot safety and customer service
Assist in completing the work orders and quality of work performed for over the counter (OTC) table work to maximize efficiency and minimize overtime
Inspect fleets, equipment, tools, and machinery regularly, and work with management to coordinate general maintenance as needed
Support the fleets’ general maintenance, operation and documentations including daily refueling
Perform daily loading and manage logistics utilized to transport products to customers
Comply with federal, state and local warehousing, material handling and shipping requirements by studying existing and new legislation and OSHA requirements, enforcing adherence to requirements and advising management on needed actions
Observe health and safety regulations; maintain warehouse in a clean, safe and orderly condition.
Manage and maintain stock of all janitorial supplies and perform janitorial duties as needed in warehouse, parking lot and bathrooms as needed
Manage rodent prevention and control as much as possible
Safeguard warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols
Maintain physical condition of warehouse by inspecting equipment and issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement
Operate a computer to enter data and communicate with administrative team as needed
Assist management in establishing warehouse standards and procedures; advise of budget-related needs; assist in the bid process for various supplies as required.
Support the field technicians on installations and/or deliveries as needed
Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
1-3+ years experience in a warehouse or retail inventory role
Able to utilize a computer with excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent problem-solving skills
Must be physically capable of being on your feet most, if not all, of the day with lots of walking
Able to safely handle and lift windows and doors that are 50+/- lbs regularly
Keen instinct on safety standards and comfortable enforcing safety SOPs in compliance with OSHA standards
Comfortable delivering frequent direct written and oral feedback
Familiarity to safely use a hand-held fork lift, dolly, blower, use of hand tools including drills
Ability to drive a truck (trailer hauling experience is a plus, but not required)
Ability to work overtime as needed
Valid CA Drivers license. We will request an MVR (motor vehicle report).
Work hours are Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:30pm. We are looking for long term, serious applicants only.
