Finish Carpenter / Cabinet Maker
California, San francisco bay area 00000 San francisco bay area USAWe are a small custom cabinet company (www.snakecrafted.com) that is seeking skilled carpenters to join our team. We primarily focus on high end residential cabinetry & custom millwork, which we usually install ourselves. This position would be part in-shop (in San Rafael) and part on-site install focused. In shop hours are 9:00 am - 5:30 pm, while onsite hours are 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. Our projects are all over the bay area, but tend to be in San Francisco and Marin (being able to commute to these areas is a must). In-shop work consists of assembling cabinets, cutting parts on a table saw, edge banding, installing cabinet hardware and more. On site work would be installing cabinets (kitchen, bathroom, etc) and other general finish carpentry like installing baseboard, trim & specialty door hardware, scribing end panels, adjusting drawer fronts & doors, stair work, paneling etc. We're pretty flexible in terms of schedule - 3-4 days a week schedule is great, but we could also do 5 days a week (40 hrs).
We're hoping to find someone who enjoys carpentry and building, has a great eye for detail, appreciates design & architecture, has a positive attitude, can work well in small teams but can work independently as well. Beyond that, the ideal candidate has the following:
-at least 3 years finish carpentry experience or more (this is important as it is a primary focus of the job)
-owns all basic hand tools
-has reliable transportation to get to job sites
-has in shop fabrication experience (cabinet fabrication a plus)
-can install basic cabinets independently (being able to install kitchens another plus!)
-can read basic architecturals and shop plans
-has experience working on high-end residential job sites
If interested, please send over a resume (preferred) or email a detailed description of work experience (including past employers / companies worked for).
