We are actively seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to add to our team and will report to the Equipment Manager. Based in Santa Clara with projects located all over the greater SF Bay Area, Monterey / Salinas area and Central Valley. This role is perfect for technicians who either excel independently in the field or shop techs who thrive in a team environment working heavy machinery and have experience repairing cranes. Ideal candidates are experts in troubleshooting and repairing complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems in a variety of settings. If you are passionate about providing on-site solutions and have a strong background in heavy equipment, we invite you to apply.Position Responsibilities and Duties:Independently perform maintenance and repairs on a wide range of heavy machinery, including cranes, excavators, loaders, backhoes, MEWPs, and more.Work as a team with other mechanics as needed.Conduct thorough inspections to identify and resolve issues, update service requests, and maintenance records.Diagnose and resolve issues with complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems, ensuring operational efficiency.Adhere to safe job practices, ensuring compliance with Cal/OSHA regulations.Serve as a Field Mechanic on jobsites as well as our shop location.Participate in training to stay current with industry standards and technologies.Efficiently manage parts inventory to maintain workflow.Mentor and support team members, fostering a collaborative work environment.Requirements:At least 5 years of experience repairing and maintaining Construction/Earthmoving equipment (Grove, Komatsu, Hitachi, John Deere, Volvo, JBI, etc.).Must have experience repairing cranes.Profound knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems relevant to heavy machinery.Proficiency with technology for diagnostics and documentation.High School diploma or equivalent; Trade school certification in a related field is preferred.When required, travel to job sites for repair/maintenance equipment; must maintain service vehicle in a clean and professional manner.Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.Physical Demands and Work Environment:To successfully carry out the essential duties of this position, an employee must meet the physical requirements outlined here. The employee is frequently required to talk and listen while carrying out the responsibilities of this position. The worker frequently will stand, walk, bend, lie down, crouch or sit and will use a laptop or a tablet. Frequently the employee will need to reach with their hands and arms.
