We're excited to add a full-time Field Service Equipment Mechanic at our brand-new San Mateo, CA location! If you have a strong background in maintaining construction equipment, with expertise in hydraulics, electronics, and both gas and diesel machinery, we want to hear from you. What you’ll do

- Greet customers and provide expert assistance with equipment use, operation, shutdown, and safety procedures.

- Travel promptly and safely to and from customer locations.

- Efficiently evaluate and troubleshoot equipment repairs on-site, ensuring quick and safe resolutions.

- Inspect equipment for damage, record usage hours, mileage, and fuel levels.

- Service and maintain equipment to ensure it meets safety standards and manufacturer operation guidelines, ready for rental.

- Manage parts orders and maintain accurate inventory records.

- Keep the shop and equipment clean and well-maintained.

- Uphold a consistently safe work environment.

- Adhere to all government and company safety policies, procedures, and regulations, including reporting any unsafe equipment, incidents, or violations.

- Assist in training new mechanics and technicians, offering guidance as needed.

To stand out you’ll need to

- Be at least 21 years of age.

- Possess a valid California driver's license with a clean driving record.

- Bring 2+ years of experience as a mechanic in the equipment rental or construction industry.

- Demonstrate fluency in English, both spoken and written.

- Excel at prioritizing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

- Work efficiently with minimal supervision.

- Maintain a strong focus on safety.

- Be physically capable of frequently lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects weighing up to 70 pounds.

- Regularly perform physical tasks such as walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and climbing.

- Adapt to working both indoors and outdoors under varying weather conditions, with and without climate control.

- Have a keen sense of smell, essential for safely working with various chemicals, including gasoline, diesel fuel, kerosene, propane gas, cleaning solvents, and aerosol paints and cleaners.

Compensation and benefits

- Competitive pay ranging from $45.00 – $55.00 per hour DOE
