Journeyman Electrician

Monterey Bay Electric, Inc., based out of Santa Cruz, is looking for a Journeyman Electrician to work on new projects throughout Santa Cruz County. Most of our work is on residential projects in Santa Cruz, Soquel, Capitola and Aptos. Projects range from new construction of homes and ADU's to additions, kitchen and bathroom remodels, service upgrades and EV chargers.

Journeyman Electrician Qualifications:

- Journeyman Electrician (3-5 years experience in residential required, commercial experience a plus)

- Must be certified or have current ET Card and be working towards becoming certified.

- Experience with underground conduit and Christy boxes, hand bending EMT conduit up to 1 1/4", pulling wire through conduit, layout and boxing out, pulling Romex, splicing, trim, etc

- Understanding and application of the NEC/CEC, 70E, and related building codes

- Understanding and application of OSHA standards and safety practices

- Experience reading and working from plans and construction drawings

- Experience planning for projects, and job coordination

- Experience with service calls and interacting with customers.

- Competence in using the tools of the trade and must own proper tools.

- CA driver’s license with a clean record.

- Must be able and willing to crawl into attics and crawl spaces under houses.
