Job Title: Journeyman Carpenter
Solaris Construction Co., Inc, a long time established firm is seeking several levels of employees to join our team. The positions include entry level, apprentice, Journeyman carpenter, and Foreman. The requirements for each position is as follows;
Entry Level - $15 to $20 per our
This position is responsible for maintain a clean work area, helping with the delivery of materials to designated areas, demolition of existing structures, digging and grading specific areas to help keep work moving, etc. This candidate must have the ability to lift heavy materials. Job requires the ability to work inside as well as outside in various weather conditions. A valid driver’s license and dependable vehicle are also necessary. There will be room for advancement if the successful candidate shows the initiative to gain more responsibilities.
Apprentice – $20 to $25 per hour
This position will require the same as above, but must have at least a minimum knowledge of, and own some basic tools necessary for the carpentry trade. At least a basic understanding of what is entailed in building and remodeling homes. Also room for advancement as candidate gains experience.
Journeyman Carpenter – Compensation depends on experience
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of a verifiable background in carpentry and woodworking with a focus on new construction and remodeling residential projects. This position will be responsible for reading blueprints, managing materials, and building all aspects of the project. This includes trim carpentry, knowledge of, and ability to install light plumbing, electrical, and “fit & finish” aspects of the job. Ownership of all tools needed for the trade is a requirement of this position. The successful candidate will work closely with necessary personnel and other trades people to ensure that projects are completed on time and to the highest standards.
Foreman – Compensation depends on experience
This position requires all of the items listed for the Journeyman carpenter, as well as a verifiable history of managing employees in the field of work. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to, managing employee(s) to ensure that work is being completed in a timely and professional manner. Must be able to manage time and materials with regard to what is needed to complete each task effectively. Must be neat and clean in appearance and be able to meet with clients to keep them updated as to the status of their job. This position requires a strong ability to communicate effectively with management in written and verbal form to affect a positive outcome of each project. The right candidate for this position may be eligible for a company truck and health benefits.
