Volunteer Coordinator

Our efforts are focused on serving with housing, wrap around services, outreach, and focused financial assistance. We also serve hot meals and meal boxes. While much of our capacity provides one-on-one support, we have goals for micro-enterprise, and a teaching kitchen. Reports To: Director of Operations
Status: Part-Time (25 hrs.) / Non-Exempt
Pay range: $25 - $27/Hr. DOE
Summary:
The Volunteer Coordinator position is responsible for managing TLR volunteer services through volunteer recruitment, placement, retention, supervision, and appreciation. This position works with members of TLR philanthropic community and staff members. The Volunteer Coordinator will build positive professional relationships and demonstrate strong systems and technology capabilities. The position will engage volunteers, support program needs, and demonstrate an ability to work with diverse individuals of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds. This position will largely work out of the center during operating hours including direct services.
Job Duties:
Work with program staff to assess volunteer needs and duties
Train incoming volunteers
Recruit volunteers using community resources including social media
Complete orientation for all incoming volunteers
Track volunteer information, placement, and hours in Cervis (volunteer platform)
Complete volunteer evaluations and continue to evaluate the volunteer program
Ensure that volunteers are appreciated and integrated into TLR culture
Lead regular volunteer appreciation initiatives and events
Manage and operate volunteer tours
Work occasional evenings and weekends as needed for events
Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee works both indoors and outdoors
May be exposed to equipment vibrations, noises, and odors, wet and/or slippery surfaces.
May include traveling to meetings, conferences, and work assignments
The employee must be able to meet deadlines with severe time constraints.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and often work in a shared space

Must be able to lift, carry, and place up to 40 pounds at a time
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, and color vision
