Electro-Mechanical Technician to help fight climate change

(www.brechtel.com) as a Level II Electro-Mechanical Technician and help create new tools to improve our understanding of climate change and air quality. Our 15-person team develops and manufactures cutting-edge scientific instruments. You will have a significant impact on our ability to deliver measurement solutions used by climate scientists and air quality researchers around the world. We further scientific discovery by creating products that make a difference.
Primary Responsibilities:
Perform product calibrations and tests
Assemble product electrical and mechanical assemblies per work instructions, photos, and/or SolidWorks models
Complete product wiring harnesses per electrical schematics
Troubleshoot non-conforming PCBAs
Qualifications:
10+ years experience in electrical & mechanical assembly and test
Excellent soldering, PCBA rework, and wire harness assembly skills
Proficiency with reading electrical schematics, bill of materials, work instructions, & using eDrawings for SolidWorks
Ability to understand complex mechanical and electrical assemblies
Experience using DMM, oscilloscope and other test equipment
Ability to work in a dynamic environment on multiple products
Ability to work with Engineering on issues and improvements
Detail oriented
Great communicator & team contributor
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
You must have the ability to remain in a stationary position roughly 40% of the time, as well as the ability to move about the manufacturing facilities to access tools, workstations, office equipment, computers and other productivity devices; attend meetings; and perform product assembly and test. Using a computer while sitting is common; most time will be spent in the product assembly and test areas, where eye, ear, and other protection (safety gear) may be required.
The position reports to the Production Manager and offers significant benefits: medical, dental and vision coverage, Simple IRA with 3% match, 9 paid holidays, and 2 weeks paid vacation. The position also offers a merit-based, annual profit-sharing bonus, and the opportunity to work alongside great people to solve important problems. The range of pay is between $26/hour and $36/hour and will be commensurate with experience.
