Trust and Estate Litigation Attorney
California, San francisco bay area 00000 San francisco bay area USAAV-rated north bay firm Friedemann Goldberg Wargo Hess LLP seeks Associate Attorney to join our trust and estate practice.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Trust and Estate Litigation: Manage trust and estate litigation tasks, such as drafting pleadings, legal research and analysis, discovery, and trial, with an eye toward increasing levels of responsibility.
Client Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, offering ongoing legal advice and support tailored to their specific needs.
Trust Administration: Advise beneficiaries and trustees on the administration of trusts, including preparing trust accountings, ensuring compliance with trust terms, and managing trust assets.
Probate: Guide clients through the probate process, including filing necessary documents with the court, managing estate assets, and distributing assets to beneficiaries.
Estate Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive estate plans, including drafting wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and advance healthcare directives.
Tax Planning: Provide advice on tax-efficient strategies for wealth transfer, including gift tax, estate tax, and generation-skipping transfer tax planning.
QUALIFICATIONS
Successful candidate would possess the following:
License to practice law in California with no record of discipline
2-4 years’ of recent experience in Trust and Estates Litigation or Civil Litigation in California
Candidates with knowledge and experience in (or an interest and willingness to learn) one or more of the following will pique our interest:
- Trust and estate litigation
- Related business and real property issues
- Estate Planning
Willingness to take on increasing responsibility, possess excellent writing and communication skills, as well as technical expertise
Superior analytical, communication, drafting, writing, research skills, problem solving, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Enthusiastic, collaborative, and thoughtful
Ties to or an interest in living in Sonoma County are preferred

Salary Range of $120,000 to $135,000, depending on years of experience
Hybrid work environment
Annual billable hours for Associates are targeted lower than large firms at 1,650 hours
Performance based bonus; additional bonus based on collections directly sourced by associate
