Executive Sous Chef
California, San francisco bay area 00000 San francisco bay area USAWe are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team in a fine dining environment. This role requires a strong background in culinary arts, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences. Experience working in a Japanese Izakaya preferred.
Responsibilities
-Assist in menu planning and development, contributing creative ideas for seasonal dishes and specials.
-Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure smooth operations during service.
-Help train new cooks and kitchen personnel on food preparation techniques and safety standards.
-Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and sanitation throughout the kitchen.
-Manage inventory levels, ensuring that all ingredients are fresh and properly stored.
Collaborate with the Management Team on daily operations, including food ordering and cost control measures.
-Oversee shift management to ensure timely service and adherence to recipes and portion control.
-Address any issues that arise during service promptly to maintain a positive guest experience.
Skills
-Proven experience in a fine dining restaurant or similar culinary environment.
-Strong menu planning abilities with a flair for creativity in dish presentation.
-Excellent supervisory skills with the ability to motivate and lead a team effectively.
-Comprehensive knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety regulations, and sanitation practices.
-Experience in restaurant management with an understanding of operational procedures within the food industry.
-Proficient in inventory management practices to minimize waste while ensuring quality ingredients are available.
-Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
