Kitchen Manager/Chef (AM/PM Shifts) – Location: Cock Robin Restaurant

Cock Robin is a new Burger and Fried Chicken restaurant opening soon in The Barlow, Sebastopol. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Kitchen Manager to take full ownership of the kitchen operations for both Cock Robin and Purple Acai, a smoothie, juice, and Acai bowl shop located nearby. This role requires you to manage all aspects of the business, including staffing, operations, menu management in Toast, general maintenance, and cleaning. You will be entrusted to run these businesses like they’re your own.
Responsibilities:
Payroll & Human Resources: Handle all aspects of hiring, training, scheduling, and firing staff for both Cock Robin and Purple Acai.
Food Buying & Costing: Oversee ingredient sourcing, manage vendor relationships, and control food costs across both locations.
Recipe Development & Testing: Collaborate on developing, testing, and pricing new menu items for both establishments.
Cooking on the Line: Lead by example, participating in line operations and cooking during busy shifts.
Public Relations: Manage the restaurant's and shop’s online presence, including social media and website updates.
Inventory Management: Oversee inventory tracking, ordering, and complete all end-of-month reporting for both locations.
Staff Development: Build, train, and manage a strong kitchen team for both Cock Robin and Purple Acai.
Food Cost Tracking: Maintain profitability by closely monitoring food costs for both operations.
End-of-Month Reporting: Ensure timely and accurate inventory and cost tracking for both locations.
Full Responsibility for Toast: Manage the full menu, pricing, and operational features within the Toast POS system for both Cock Robin and Purple Acai. Ensure all updates, changes, and reports are accurate and up-to-date.
General Maintenance & Cleaning: Oversee general maintenance and repairs as needed, and ensure that cleanliness standards are consistently met in both kitchens.
Full Ownership Mentality: Take complete responsibility for kitchen operations, staffing, menu management, maintenance, cleaning, and profitability of both businesses.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a kitchen manager or similar leadership role in the food industry
Experience managing Toast POS or similar systems, including menu creation, management, and reporting
A strong sense of ownership and accountability for all aspects of kitchen operations
Willingness to take on general maintenance tasks and ensure cleanliness standards are upheld
Excellent team management, communication, and organizational skills
Knowledge of kitchen equipment, sanitation regulations, and food safety standards
Proficient in food cost tracking, inventory management, and recipe development
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
