Lunch Box is hiring for a part time cook. We're a small crew who deeply values a positive and supportive work environment and are looking for like minded individuals to join our team.

Cook:

We're looking for an experienced cook who is comfortable working in a fast paced environment. Given our team is small, it is important that our team is trained across different positions so we can all help each other when needed. We do not have a full time dishwasher, so everybody shares in dishwashing responsibilities.

Hours: 20-30 hours a week, hours may vary depending on catering/pop-up schedule

Responsibilities include:

-Maintaining a clean line, the ability to prepare multiple dishes at once with timeliness and attention to detail.

Understanding FIFO and consolidation practices.

-prep work (slicing, making sauces/dressings. grinding meat, etc.)

-washing dishes and maintaining a clean dish pit and prep space

-closing (closing down the dish pit, sweeping and mopping the line, etc)

Job Requirements:

-must be at least 18 years old

-must have a California Food Handler's Card

-minimum of 2 years of experience as a line cook is desired

-must have experience cooking meat to temperature

-excellent multi-tasking and communication skills

-open availability including evenings and weekends

-ability to be on your feet for 6+ hours and lift 25+ lbs

Compensation is $23-$26+ per hour depending on experience and is a combination of base wage plus tips as part of our shared tipping pool.
