Job description – Summer Camp Teacher for Thinking Program

General Teacher Responsibilities:
1. -Teacher work schedule: Monday, June 10 - Friday, July 12, 2024, 8:00 am – 1:00 pm
-Independence Day Holiday: Thursday, July 4, 2024 & Juneteenth Day off June 19, 2024
-Attend and perform at Open House: Thursday, July 11, 2024, 5:00pm-7:30 p.m.
-Camp located at Ingrid B. Lacey School, Pacifica, CA
-Prepare for Open House, parent and family tours, display projects, attend event and be available to present program
activities.
- Pre-Camp set up and preparations: Monday - Friday, June 10 – June 14, 2024, 10:00 am-3:00pm
- Salary for camp session, Open House and set-up/mtgs. is $3400.00
2. Oversee and prepare daily camp curriculum and activities. Manage camper engagement
3. Supervision of camper behavior and safety. Supervision of camp volunteers.
4. Attend occasional but short camp staff meetings usually at end of the day
5. Work with Camp Director and Camp Site Supervisor on managing camp concerns, activities and incidences. Maintain contact with Director and/or Supervisor for
any change in schedule
Thinking Teacher Goals and Responsibilities:
Each day, campers will be challenged to organize, develop, examine, expand, and explain their creative ideas. As part of our morning together, curious young minds will create thinking portfolios while stimulating and improving their cognitive and lateral thinking strategies. What does that mean? There are no wrong answers!

1. Create and manage a daily Thinking curriculum which develops an appreciation for learning and creativity.
2. Prepare daily Thinking and Problem Solving activities for 4 different age groups ranging from 1st- 6th grade
3. Prepare to demonstrate camp activities at Open House event, July 11, 2024, 5:00- 7:30pm.
