Yoga and Cooking Summer Camp Coordinator

Locations: Berkeley and Walnut Creek / applicant may choose preferred location

Dates of Position: June 10th-August 9th

4th of July week off for both locations

Position Hours: 7:45AM - 4PM

Compensation: Hourly $28 - $33/hr plus End of Season Performance Based Bonus up to $1200

Come join a fun team who loves cooking, yoga, and working with youth! Our Site Lead will ensure that each day of camp runs smoothly. Site Leads will also communicate with parents and ensure that registrations are in order. Perks of this job include a daily home-cooked lunch and making a difference in the lives of youth as they learn yoga, mindfulness and healthy cooking.

Job responsibilities:

Teaching

Instruct kids in yoga and cooking, all training and materials are provided.

Administration

Interface with parents regarding all camp communications, including registration, delivery of parent/guardian reports, resolving grievances, and acting as a communication bridge between parents and counselors.

Maintain close communication with the Camp Director to ensure camp is running smoothly

Record daily camp highlights, pictures and quotes for the weekly camp highlights newsletter.

Clearly communicate camp schedule, procedures and expectations to staff and provide guidance, support and constructive feedback.

Conduct daily morning staff meetings.

Oversee camp opening and closing procedures.

Ensure adherence to safety protocols and emergency procedures for all campers and with the venue.

Able to step in and teach hands-on culinary skills, yoga, and mindfulness if necessary.

Required Qualifications and Experience

3+ years of experience working with children in a school or camp setting.

1+ year management experience in any setting

Possess extensive knowledge of enrichment and recreation activities, and support a collaborative environment

Commitment to providing an education experience that is child-centered, safe, and inclusive.

Undergraduate degree, preferably in education, social sciences, or a related field

Physical requirements: Ability to stand, bend, stoop, sit, walk, twist and turn, and to lift 25 pounds.

First Aid Certified- can be acquired after hire. (reimbursed)

Food Handler Certified- can be acquired after hire. (reimbursed)
