Inspection Associate

Santa Barbara Imaging Systems is looking for an Inspection Associate in the Operations Department. This is a permanent in-person position, preferably full time, and we have an immediate opening. The candidate will be participating in a medical device manufacturing environment. Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus, experience with quality systems or inspection is a bonus.

Responsibilities:

-Inspection: Inspection of machined parts using hand tools such as calipers, micrometers, and drop gauges. Visual inspection, including label inspection, of finished goods parts. Visual inspection of electronic and cable assemblies.

-Create inspection reports for each lot inspection. Create rejection reports for parts found to be out of specification.

-Inspection criteria for all parts is marked on engineering drawings. Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings inspection documentation completed via Microsoft Excel.

-Various other operations tasks as needed, including organizing and maintaining the shipping/receiving and inspection areas.

Requirements:

-High school degree or equivalent required. Experience in manufacturing or QA inspection preferred.

-Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

- Experience with calipers and hand measurement tools preferred.

-Basic computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

-Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs and be able to stand for 2 to 3 hours at a time.

Schedule:

We are looking for a full time candidate, 40 hours a week, but will consider part time for the right candidate. The Operations department is open from 6:30 AM to 5 PM M-F.

Santa Barbara Imaging Systems (SBIS), located in Goleta, CA, focuses on research, development and manufacturing of medical video imaging systems for use in surgical applications.
