Collections Specialist
California, Sanfrancisco, 94102 Sanfrancisco USADescription We are offering a short-term contract employment opportunity for a Collections Specialist in the Non-Profit industry, based in San Francisco, California. The role is 100% remote and entails ensuring efficient collection of outstanding accounts and resolving holding accounts. Responsibilities: Contact funders, partners, and clients to follow up on outstanding payments and secure commitments for pending receivables. Conduct thorough research and analysis of open items, including overdue accounts and uncollected balances. Ensure compliance with grant reporting requirements and identify any pending deliverables linked to payments. Clear any identified and unidentified AR sitting in holding accounts through proper identification and follow-up. Liaise with funders regarding grant-related payments and provide all necessary documentation. Maintain comprehensive records of communication and follow-ups. Provide regular updates on collection efforts and progress toward meeting AR collection targets. Collaborate with finance and advisors to gather necessary documentation for funders and ensure alignment on grant requirements, reporting deadlines, and financial records. Assist in preparing invoices, payment reminders, and other AR-related documentation as needed, and maintain an organized database of AR records for auditing and reporting purposes. Support booking adjustments and reconciliations to ensure financial records are updated and accurate. Assist the Project Accountants with reclassifying revenue categories to ensure proper categorization and separation of revenue that has already been received, and work collaboratively with them to refine financial records and reports by accurately segmenting revenue into individual categories. Requirements Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role Knowledge and experience in Accounts Receivable (AR) Familiarity with Collection Processes Proficiency in using NetSuite software Experience in Grant Accounting within the non-profit sector Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work Attention to detail and problem-solving skills Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field is preferred Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
