The COO organization includes key GTM teams such as Worldwide Sales, Worldwide Marketing, and Customer Success. It also includes key technology/engineering & experience teams such as Enterprise Systems & Experience and Digital Experience & Customer Empowerment.This will allow us to work better together and deliver accelerated revenue growth, while having an extraordinary impact on our customers, partners, and employees.The Role:We are looking for a finance leader to drive and execute our journey as co-pilots to our business partners within the COO organization. The Spend Portfolio Management (SPM) team manages the overall spend portfolio for the COO organization, including all go-to-market and technology teams. This role will report to the Senior Director of COO Finance – SPM and focus on the technology/engineering teams (primarily G&A) and guide our mission to make better, faster, ROI-driven decisions that optimize Autodesk’s growth. Now more than ever, there is a critical need for us as the finance team to be co-pilots and guide the way towards a robust ROI framework that brings optimization and scalability for our investments. Successful candidates should have prior experience in P&L management, a collaborative mindset, independence, and proven ability to develop strong teams. In addition, professionalism, clear articulation of stories beyond the data/numbers, and effective prioritization/time management skills are crucial.The Director will lead a team of finance professionals and join a diverse, highly engaging, unique, and fun group. This role can be hybrid, remote, or office-based in the US or Canada.Main Responsibilities:
Partner with GTM technology teams across the COO organization to design, guide, and implement a new centrally managed ROI framework where all key initiatives involving technology, engineering, and design spend are prioritized consistently with proper success measures.
Collaborate with go-to-market finance leads to ensure connectedness of ROI framework across S&M and G&A spend.
Partner with the CIO + staff members and drive strategic direction for stakeholders.
Oversee annual budget planning, monthly forecast cycles, and quarterly close processes for GTM technology & engineering.
Key stakeholder for COO Finance Leadership Team & cross-functional teams on all COO G&A spend.
Lead a team of finance professionals to own monthly forecast and quarter-end activities including signing off on internal controls as well as reviewing and approving official forecasts and quarter-end analyses in Anaplan.
Own long-range plan for COO G&A spend in partnership with counterparts in FP&A.
How You Will Spend your Day:
Build ROI culture: You will create a “ROI-mindset” culture for your teams and stakeholders. You will deliver a COO-wide framework that allows us to effectively track spend across all initiatives and measure the success/return by leveraging technology.
Partner with impact: You will forge authentic, trusting relationships with stakeholders across the COO organization while empowering them to make smart business decisions and optimize their spend portfolio.
Drive Financial Excellence: You will drive spend budget/forecast accountability with G&A teams within the COO organization to maintain acceptable accuracy in monthly forecasts and compliance with accounting regulations. You will help implement and maintain unified standards across the COO Finance teams to drive scalability.
Minimum Qualifications:
12+ years of related finance experience, preferably in a global SaaS environment.
Prior experience in P&L management.
Proven experience partnering with engineering, technology, and/or product teams to help focus investments on high ROI opportunities while maintaining the ability to connect corporate and financial strategy.
An innovative mindset with a passion for driving leading edge processes and technologies.
Experience leading and developing teams of finance professionals.
Proven finance business partnership skills and the ability to work collaboratively across all levels of leadership.

For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $170,800 and $276,320. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range.
