Medical Biller/Collections Specialist

Description We are seeking a Medical Biller/Collections Specialist to join our team in San Francisco, California. In this role, you will primarily be responsible for managing billing accounts and collections in the healthcare industry and will need to be familiar with medical billing terminology. This role requires a strong understanding of electronic health records and billing software, specifically Axiom. Responsibilities: Manage and process patient financial accounts and billing efficiently Communicate with doctors and other department heads regarding patient accounts Utilize electronic health records for patient check-ins and scheduling Understand and explain medical billing terminology to patients Run and collect billings, and ensure timely payments from patients Handle inquiries from insurance providers and patients Monitor patient accounts and take necessary actions for collections Utilize Veracross Axiom software for various billing functions Maintain accurate customer credit records and process customer credit applications Act as a point of contact for front-facing office inquiries Requirements Minimum of 3 years of experience in medical billing and collections Proficiency in authorization procedures Comprehensive understanding and capability to perform billing functions Experience in collections, with a focus on medical billing Knowledge and experience using Veracross Axiom software Strong attention to detail and accuracy Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance practices Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word Familiarity with medical coding is a plus.
