MTS Bus Cleaner (Servicer A) - $22.50
California, San diego, 92101 San diego USASan Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) is accepting applications for the next Servicer A (Bus Cleaner) position. Servicer As (Bus Cleaners) ensure that the MTS fleet is clean, ready to run and represents MTS's dedication to safety, cleanliness and the community! Career Progression:
Servicer A’s have the opportunity to join the Bus Mechanic Apprenticeship Program. To apply for the Bus Mechanic Apprenticeship Program, candidates must first become a Servicer A. All Servicer As with good attendance and performance will get a chance to test for the possibility to join the Bus Mechanic Apprenticeship program (timing based on seniority). Servicer As are responsible for the cleanliness of bus vehicles, divisional garages and shops. A newly hired Bus Mechanic Apprentice may be assigned to one of three Maintenance positions: General Mechanic, Body Shop Mechanic or Electronics Technician. Bus Mechanic Apprentices are responsible for troubleshooting, repairing and preventative maintenance of the engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, electrical, air conditioning/heating, and wheelchair lifts.

What does a Servicer A (Bus Cleaner) do?
Under the direction and supervision of the Shop Foreman and Manager of Fleet & Facility Maintenance, the Servicer A cleans MTS Bus vehicles, divisional garages, shops and office areas, and performs in-route bus changes. Other essential duties of the Servicer A position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Vehicle Maintenance: Scrub exteriors, clean interiors including walls, seats and windows, sweep and mop bus floors, spray for insects as required and park buses in assigned locations.
Facilities Maintenance: Ensure shops are clean using solvent cleaners, empty waste baskets and trash barrels, clean lavatories and replenish paper products, remove litter from yard areas.
Record Keeping: Maintain written record of bus mileage and cleaning record.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
19 years of age
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Possess and maintain a valid CA driver license
