We are a full-service staffing agency seeking an experienced Accounting Manager for our client, a prominent company in the building and construction industry. The ideal candidate will excel in financial management and team leadership, driving accurate reporting and compliance in a dynamic environment.
Core Responsibilities:
Team Leadership: Lead, manage, and hold accountable all accounting staff to ensure high performance and professional growth.
Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze company financial reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Cost Management: Monitor and control project costs, tracking actual expenses against budgets and reporting variances.
Compliance Oversight: Ensure adherence to financial regulations and contractual obligations within the construction sector.
Accounts Management: Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely invoicing, collections, and payments.
Cash Flow Management: Manage cash flow effectively to ensure adequate liquidity for ongoing projects.
Key Job Requirements:
Financial Accounting:
Preparation of monthly and year-end financial statements, annual budgets, WIP reports, and weekly cash reports.
Experience with payroll processing and audit documentation.
Job Cost Accounting:
Ability to allocate costs accurately to specific jobs and prepare job cost reports.
Review and approve project-related expenses, ensuring proper documentation.
Personnel Management:
Hire, train, and mentor accounting staff, ensuring high standards of work and ethical conduct.
Conduct performance reviews and provide growth opportunities.
Organizational Skills:
Strong ability to prioritize tasks, delegate effectively, and manage time efficiently.
Maintain a work/life balance while maximizing team productivity.
Communication Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication with diverse stakeholders, ensuring clarity for all audiences.
Diplomatic communication style at all levels of the organization.
Technical Expertise:
Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage, hh2, Procore, Asana, and MS Suite.
Stay updated on financial regulations and provide training to staff on relevant software.
