Associate Attorney

Small law office is seeking a full or part-time associate for civil litigation practice. All applicants should have the following skills:

1. Problem solving ability;

2. Efficiently and effectively research, interpret and distill legal authority;

3. Desire to learn;

4. Strong work ethic;

5. Ready willing and able to answer phones and engage with potential clients, medical providers, opposing counsel, etc.

6. Be able to request/order/track and obtain medical records;

7. Be able to order/track and obtain medical lien information from insurance carriers/Medicare/ and Medi-Cal.

8. Summarize medical records and deposition transcripts;

9. Setup pleadings/motions/ex parte applications for finalization by attorney;

10. Draft and respond to discovery;

11. Answer phone calls and eagerly and energetically communicate well with clients and others.

Applicants should be detailed and task-oriented with the ability to work independently (at times), quickly, and efficiently.

I will consider newly licensed attorneys, but it is a plus if you have some civil litigation experience as an attorney, clerk, etc.

It is not required but also very helpful if you have any health care background.
