House Services Overnight Lead

Payrate: $24/hr. - $25/hr.

On-site role in San Diego

Night shift – 40 hours per week

6 month contract to hire assignment

Job Summary:

The House Services Overnight Lead is responsible for providing leadership and guidance to team members in addition to housekeeping, organizational, maintenance, and laundry tasks necessary to maintain the facility at an optimum level of cleanliness and sanitation during overnight hours. The House Services Overnight Lead is responsible for promoting and enforcing an environment of hospitality and comfort for House guests. The House Services Overnight Lead may be asked to perform related tasks on an as needed or regular basis.

Essential Functions:

Provide support and oversight to House Services staff during overnight hours.

Provide friendly, welcoming services to resident families and service providers.

Attend and participate in monthly meetings with House Manager.

Keep team members informed of any changes or activities taking place at the Houses.

Provide team members with information and assistance.

Ensure positive, proactive interaction with staff to ensure that the House consistently provides an optimal living environment for guests.

Assist with the planning, organization, and direction of activities related to cleanliness, safety, and upkeep of the Houses in accordance with state, local, federal, Global standards.

Uphold organization’s emergency preparedness plan.

Provide training to new staff members on House functions, policies, procedures, and emergency prep.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide support and direction to House Services overnight staff.

Detail clean assigned overnight areas.

Ensure that common areas, including hallways, conference /administrative offices, reception, great room, and kitchen areas are clean and free of trash and clutter.

Oversee team members to ensure the Houses meet environmental, health, and security standards.

Direct and assist with the onboarding of new overnight employees, including House functions, and policies, procedures, and emergency prep.

Provide one-on-one training to new employees to ensure proper cleaning procedures are understood.

Provide guidance to House Services staff on House rules and being alert to potential problems.

Report any maintenance, cleanliness, or guest room issues to the House Manager.

Monitor building safety and security by performing regular travel path inspections.

Know how to use safety equipment and report safety/repair issues to the Facility Services Supervisor.

Organize and supervise implementation of emergency procedures, when necessary.

Ensure team members review and understand Emergency Procedures materials.

Respond to observed or verbalized requests from House guests. If appropriate, relay requests to the House Manager.

Utilize communication and human relations skills to assist guests to effectively function in a group living environment.

Assist guest families with after-hour check-ins and check-outs.

Detail clean guest rooms at the time of check-out, when necessary.

Direct and/or assist in the set up and breakdown of events, when necessary.

Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skill and Experience:

Ability to communicate in English. Bi-lingual (Eng.-Sp.) capability is preferred.

High school or GED diploma.

Ability to use teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills to work with families, staff, volunteers, and partnering organizations in a friendly, professional manner.

Knowledge of cleaning procedures.

Ability to undertake strenuous activities and lift up to 50 lbs.

Ability to work in a fast paced environment utilizing good work habits and health and safety procedures.
