Live In Caregiver Wanted

Full-time caregiver needed in the San Marcos area!

Hello! We are seeking a live-in caregiver for my 72 y/o mom. The job would entail working 5 days a week (mornings starting around 1130 am and night ending around 10pm) with two days off. However, we are also flexible on your days off and can be changed as needed depending on your circumstances and availability.

A little about her and her history. She suffered a stroke that has left her partially paralyzed and with speech aphasia. She understands everything, but has difficulty speaking and requires a lot of patience.

She spends the majority of her time in bed, so keeping her clean and dry along with frequent repositioning will be a majority of the job. An ideal fit would be someone who is quiet, calm, patient and also has a sense of humor.

Other duties include meal prep/cooking, continuing therapy exercises, assistance with showers, companionship and keeping her room/bathroom clean. At night she uses a purwick device, so set up and clean-up will also be required.
