Line Cook / Prep Cook – Neighborhood Bar Kitchen
California, San diego, 92101 San diego USAWe’re a neighborhood bar with a focused, high-volume kitchen, looking to add experienced, dependable line cooks and prep cooks to our team.
Our menu is established and built for service, with an emphasis on strong fundamentals, consistency, and quality. We focus on execution, consistency, and working with quality ingredients when availability and seasonality allow, We value cooks who take pride in their work while remaining open to thoughtful collaboration as the kitchen evolves.
The Kitchen:
High-volume bar kitchen
Tight, efficient menu designed for service
Grill and fryer driven, with daily prep
Emphasis on consistency, speed, and cleanliness
Professional environment—organized, calm, and accountable
What We’re Looking For:
Line Cook-
Minimum 5 years of kitchen experience required
Strong knife skills and station awareness
Ability to follow recipes and specs exactly
Comfortable running a station during busy services
High standards for cleanliness, organization, and food safety
Prep Cook-
Minimum 3 years of kitchen experience required
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to prep consistently to spec and on schedule
Comfortable supporting service when needed
Pride in maintaining clean, well-labeled prep and storage areas
For both roles:
Reliable, communicative, and team-oriented
Open to feedback and continuous improvement
Responsibilities:
Line Cook-
Execute menu items accurately and consistently during service
Maintain station setup, prep levels, and cleanliness
Communicate clearly with kitchen and FOH
Participate in menu refinements and specials as appropriate
Prep Cook-
Complete prep to spec and on schedule
Maintain labeling, rotation, and storage standards
Support service when needed
Help improve prep systems and efficiencies over time
Creative Input
The core menu is established, but we encourage:
Thoughtful feedback on execution and flow
Collaboration on specials and seasonal adjustments
Input grounded in consistency, feasibility, and respect for the menu
Creative freedom grows with trust and performance.
Schedule & Pay:
Evening and weekend availability required
Part-time and full-time positions available
Pay based on experience
Shift meals provided
Consistent scheduling and clear expectations
