Job Summary:

Do you have a passion for food/cooking and customer service. Junkyard Sports Bar is looking for a cook who with a passion for food, experience in the kitchen and a desire to grow/develop. Come Join us at Junkyard Sports Bar.

Summary of essential job functions

Knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety. regulations such as accurate food handling, sanitation, and storage.

Demonstrates interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.

Follows SOP Guidelines for Temperature checks and food quality.

Adhere to portion sizes and plating guidelines.

Maintains daily food supplies and kitchen equipment, as needed.

Store food products in compliance with safety practices (e.g. in refrigerators, freezers, prep stations)

Ensures compliance with state, federal, and local food handling requirements, and standards.

Maintain sanitation and safety standards in the kitchen area.

Inspect the kitchen to ensure everything is organized and sanitized appropriately.

Required Skills & Abilities

Certification from a culinary school or degree in culinary is a plus.

Experience as a cook or in a food related role required.

Hands-on experience with maintaining kitchen standards.

Knowledge of basic knife skills, FIFO, Proper Labeling and Food Preparation.

Familiarity with kitchen sanitation and safety regulations.

Excellent organizational skills.

Ability to work with a team, in a fast-paced work environment.

Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

Strong Communication Skills a must

Basic math counting skills.

Physical Requirements

· Ability to work at various locations, as needed.

· Physical stamina to withstand a full shift potentially on their feet.

· Ability to walk, sit, and stand for extended periods to support community engagement events both inside and outside a building.

· Ability to lift, push or pull up-to 50 pounds to support with movement of materials and supplies.

· Ability to bend or squat as needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
