Overview
We are currently looking for a FULL-TIME, live-in Motel Assistant Manager, with motel management experience, to manage the day-to-day business operations of our motel. This candidate should be people friendly, hospitable, and represent themselves and the motel in an honest and professional manner.
Compensation will include an agreed upon salary, and housing in a 1-bedroom behind the office.
Employment subject to passing a drug test.
Responsibilities will include:
Manage motel operations, including finances, cleaning rooms at check-out, laundry, restocking mini fridge and maintenance
Run the front desk, including interacting with guests and others as the face of the motel
Work closely with ownership to improve the motel revenue and guest satisfaction
Walk the property and guest rooms on a regular basis, with a constant focus on property and guestroom enhancements. Contact Owner with suggestions, recognizing that not all will be undertaken.
Ensure property grounds, common areas, and guestrooms are maintained with the highest standards, focusing on details that impact the guest experience.
Function as a “working Assistant Motel Manager,” completing managerial duties while working at the front desk.
Must be reachable. Understand that superior guest service is required, regardless of the time.
Interface with owners during site visits.
Requirements:
Display use of good judgment and demonstrate leadership capabilities.
Able and willing to deliver friendly, courteous, and prompt customer service.
Minimum GED education level.
Must have basic computer skills.
Must have current, valid driver's license and be insured.
Must have reliable transportation and phone.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs., while performing the duties of this job. The employee is required to frequently stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear; occasionally sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
Must be fluent in English.
