We are seeking both nurse practitioners and physician assistants to join the Division of Emergency Medicine.Rady Children's Hospital San Diego (RCHSD), a 377-bed level 1 Trauma Center, is the major regional primary and tertiary pediatric hospital and is the clinical home of UCSD Department of Pediatrics. The Emergency Division has a strong commitment to clinical care, teaching and research. The Urgent Cares consist of 6 locations around the county of San Diego and the surrounding areas. The Emergency Department is located at the Rady Children’s Hospital Main Campus.JOB SUMMARY:The Nurse Practitioner, NICU-ED-UC provides comprehensive physical assessment, treatment, psychosocial support, referral, and health education to children and families in clinical settings. This position is accountable for a defined patient population under the supervision of a licensed physician and is the primary provider of care to acute, critical, complex chronically ill and well pediatric patients collaboratively with the Divisions of Neonatology, Emergency Medicine, or Urgent Care. The Nurse Practitioner, NICU-ED-UC also functions as a clinical leader, educator, researcher, and consultant.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Master’s Degree in NursingCurrent California Nurse Practitioner licenseCurrent BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers, issued by AHACurrent PALS Certification, issued by AHAFurnishing number, State of California – Must obtain within 1 year of employmentDEA license for positions that require the writing of scheduled medications – Must obtain within one year of employmentMedicare Billing number (NPI- National Provider Identifier) - Must obtain within 6 months of employmentCertification: Nurse Practitioner, National – Must obtain within 1 year of employmentSuccessfully complete the credentialing process through Medical Staff ServicesSuccessfully complete the requirements of the delegations of Services for the assigned divisionPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Two years of experience in clinical nursing with emphasis in specialty areaExperience in specialty area as a Nurse PractitionerFormal in-service education and/or lecturing skillsBilingual Skills desiredThe expected hiring range for this position is $74.51 to $102.45 per hour.Children’s Specialists of San Diego is committed to compensation that is externally competitive and internally equitable.
